X/Y mode

One feature that I haven’t seen on any other oscilloscope is the software- controlled X/Y mode of the P7001. In this mode, the beam of the oscilloscope is controlled directly by the software on the controller. This function is very powerful. It’s possible to draw about 124,900 vectors per second without slowing down the P7001 in doing its other tasks.

This feature not only allows one to draw some nice demo graphics, it was also possible to add a new GUI element for interaction with the user: An On-Screen menu. The picture below shows the default readout of the DPO together with my new font elements in the center of the screen. The font can easily be scaled to any size.
